Book Launch Party!

It’s time to launch the next installment in the #80sMetalMurder series.

And, there are SO many ways to join the celebration!

Devil’s Track, the fourth book in the Det. Mahoney Serial Killer Thriller series, will descend upon the world on April 27. This NEW book is a fresh start for this series. The first three books, Final Track, Acid Track, and Back Track, fit nicely together as a stand-a-lone trilogy. Set in the late 80s, the journey of Det. Mahoney spirals down a dark vortex as he hunts a series of serial killers. The soundtrack follows an 80s Metal, Acid Rock, Gothic Rock progression.

The NEW book, Devil’s Track, takes us on a jump to the late 90s. The detective is NEW, as we now take a deep mind dive into the consciousness of Stella Mahoney, our previous Detective’s daughter. Stella is a bourbon-heavy metal-sex addicted fireball with a deadly secret.

On a high from a Rob Zombie concert bender, Stella is thrust into the case of her dreams.

She follows the Satanic symbol branded into the flesh of the victim. It leads her to the Devil’s Track – an album of hypnotizing devilish chants produced by the Poison Sisters. The album takes a hold on her, leading her to murderous acts, threatening to reveal her deadly secret.

Will her murderous desires be revealed? Will she live up to her father’s legacy?

Will she catch a killer before another victim is burned alive?

Devil’s Track is currently on pre-order (e-book) for a killer price of $0.99. Print will be available on April 27.

Massive Book Makeover

It has been far too long since I’ve written a post. Far, far, too long!

I’ve been shut in my office working, working, working. This year has started off with quite the journey for me. My beloved psychological serial killer series has had a complete makeover!

The dark and twisted stories of a detective plagued with hallucinations of corpse faces on the hunt for serial killers with demented filters on reality remain untouched. The stories are delicious.

The packaging, the covers, the look and feel, have been completely redone. They look fabulous. They seep 80s Metal Murder.

Final Track and Acid Track have been revealed and remain available for your entertainment.

The third book, Back Track, will be unleashed upon the world soon! The cover reveal will be on June 2. The book will be launched on June 9. If you want in on the early access and exclusive online event, join Bon Julie’s rocking newsletter.

Flash Sale!

It’s been a while since I have written a post. I’m sorry. I got lost in finishing book 3 (Yes! Book 3!) in the Det. Mahoney, 80s metal murder series. I was attempting to juggle quite a few things. I stepped back, focused on less, in the name of quality.

Things are settling now. I am starting to find a flow in the different areas of my little book business.

Thank you for your patience. I am thrilled you are still hanging around. As a thank you, I am having a flash sale. Today is the last day, so grab your copy!

There’s lots going on! I’ve been working on two different novellas. One is a spin off of one of the characters from the Det. Mahoney series. The other, more on the horror side of things, is about Owen, his terrarium, and the life he lives according to a painful cycle.

I’m also deep into a killer collaboration with an amazing horror author, Daniel Willcocks, and we will be releasing a delicious horror anthology in time for Halloween.

Finally, I have a gruesome story about gluttony coming out in July as part of a fantastic anthology, Forbidden Fruit, by the talented Seventh Terrace.

Stay tuned here for details on all of this, along with some new features coming up (80s metal, murder, and horror, oh – and a head bang or two).

xoxoxo Demon Julie

10 Days of Halloween – Wrap Up

It’s sad to say goodbye to my beloved Halloween for another year. But, as I look back on the last week, I realize I’ve had enough fun…for now.

Our pumpkin carving was a success. The new carving toolset is awesome! I can’t wait to stretch my limits next year.

Bake time was a blast, and it was delicious. Who doesn’t love feasting on the remnants in the mixing bowl?

I spent the whole day listening to Halloween songs, including my all time favorite.

And of course, I had some devlish fun on my makeup.

To top off this amazing week with an 80s metal cherry, Halloween Howler with Broken Toyz was a blast.

If you love Halloween as much as I do, stay here, and follow along on Facebook or Instagram, for plenty more spine prickling things….

10 Days of Halloween – Movie Time

I love scary movies. What better time than Halloween to pour a glass of wine, turn off all the lights, and curl up on the couch for scary movie time?

Today, in true Demon Julie style, I’ll recommend the toxic cocktail – Devil’s Candy. Two parts heavy metal, one part murder, and laced with terror. In raw #MetalMurder fashion, the devil’s music possesses those who listen, morphing mere humans into killing machines.

It’s a rough, raw ride filled with horrifying images. It’s sure to send a chill up your insides. So grab a cocktail, butter that popcorn, and prepare your self for a scary ride!

What is your favorite scary movie? Share in the comments.

Miss out on the first three Days of Halloween? Day 1. Day 2. Day 3.

Scariest Serial Killers – Episode One

Welcome, my little demons, to the NEW monthly feature at Killers And Demons. This feature will take you on a deep dive into some of the evilest minds to have scoured the earth. Serial killers are indeed a unique brand of killer. It was my desire to capture the horrifying nature of such a beast in each of my novels. I wanted to write a book that would capture the complexity of the serial killer and display the depth of such a character. Thus, I dug into the real and the terrifying. Inspired by such books and shows as MindHunter, Criminal Minds, and True Detective, I wanted to weave a tale that would have the reader immersed in a homicide investigation driven to examine more than just the clues. I wanted to take the reader on a journey into the psyche and behaviour of the monster behind the murders. After researching dozens of serial killers, it became apparent to me that these creatures all have a similar set of traits, or components. Thus, our first serial killer feature takes a look at Edmund Kemper. Edmund is a main focus on the first season of MindHunter. I watched this first season twice. Both times I was hypnotized by the words coming out of fictional Edmund’s mouth and the way in which he spoke. After digging into the facts of Edmund, I was horrified and stunned at the realization that he did in fact do everything they showed on the TV series version of him, and more. Edmund is one of the scariest serial killers. Why? Today we talk about his fantasy, his ability to blend in, his tortured child hood, and his ability to obtain a clean slate. His fantasy was extremely clear and vivid. He knew exactly what his end goal was as he practiced the act of murder on a series of victims. In the end, the main thorn in his heel was his mother. Locking him up on multiple occasions with the excuse that she thought he would molest his sisters, and reinforcing her brutal opinion that her son was worthless on countless occasions with verbal attacks. He simply wanted to shut her up, and shut her up he did. In the end, she was his final kill. At least that we know of. He beheaded her, sexually violated her head, and tossed her vocal chords in the garburator. He lived out the fantasy he’d been practicing for. He was a sneaky bugger. Pulled over for a tail light issue, he was so charming and relaxed, the police officer sent him happily on his way. Despite the two bodies that were hidden in his trunk. We may never know how many times he slipped under the radar. He blended in so well, he was a favourite amongst the cops down at the neighbourhood pub. They claimed he was a friendly and likeable guy. Yes, blend in he did.Edmund was tortured early on in his life. The physical and verbal abuse aside, he was tortured internally. He loved to play ominous games having his sister help him to pretend to the was being sent to the gas chamber. Cats couldn’t go around him without a horrifying end. When he was sent to live with his grandparents, he killed them. He started with his grandmother, later claiming that he wanted to know what it felt like to kill a person. His grandfather saw the end when Edmund decided he didn’t want grandpa to live without grandma. Was that the truth? Or did he like the kill so much he wanted another? Either way, he ended up calling in dear old mom for help. Despite the admittance, he was only fifteen, and thus he was institutionalized for a time, then released with a clean slate. It could have been his ability to sway the psychological assessments he underwent in the way he wanted them to go. Or at least it appears so. Why would his slate be clean? He was deemed to he the perfect example of rehabilitation. And why would he later be allowed to assist with the assessment of other inmates and the development of tests for fellow criminals? It’s all rather shocking. If this doesn’t chill your bones, then I don’t know what would. Please come back for next month’s feature on the scariest serial killer. If there is a serial killer you would like featured, pop your suggestions in the comments below.
