A detective with a deadly secret…

An album of hypnotizing devilish chants…

A killer branding victims with satanic symbols…

A house with a demonic hold…

It’s 1999. The cemeteries are cold. Heavy metal is wild.

The burned remains of a woman are found hanging from a wooden stake near an old cemetery. Satanic symbols are branded into her flesh. Recovering from a heavy metal high after a Rob Zombie concert, Detective Stella Mahoney is thrust into the case she’s dreamed of.

The symbols lead her to the Devil’s Track. The devilish chants entrance her, pulling her to murderous acts. Sightings of a cloaked woman with fire-red hair and ice-blue eyes plunge her into a hunt.

Reeling in the pain of her father’s death, can she live up to his legacy? Will her deadly secret be exposed? Will she catch a killer before another victim is burned alive?

Devil’s Track, the fourth book in the Det. Mahoney Serial Killer Thriller series, will descend upon the world on April 27. This NEW book is a fresh start for this series. The first three books, Final Track, Acid Track, and Back Track, fit nicely together as a stand-a-lone trilogy. Set in the late 80s, the journey of Det. Mahoney spirals down a dark vortex as he hunts a series of serial killers. The soundtrack follows an 80s Metal, Acid Rock, Gothic Rock progression.

The NEW book, Devil’s Track, takes us on a jump to the late 90s. The detective is NEW, as we now take a deep mind dive into the consciousness of Stella Mahoney, our previous Detective’s daughter. Stella is a bourbon-heavy metal-sex addicted fireball with a deadly secret.

On a high from a Rob Zombie concert bender, Stella is thrust into the case of her dreams.

She follows the Satanic symbol branded into the flesh of the victim. It leads her to the Devil’s Track – an album of hypnotizing devilish chants produced by the Poison Sisters. The album takes a hold on her, leading her to murderous acts, threatening to reveal her deadly secret.

Will her murderous desires be revealed? Will she live up to her father’s legacy?

Will she catch a killer before another victim is burned alive?

Massive Book Makeover

It has been far too long since I’ve written a post. Far, far, too long!

I’ve been shut in my office working, working, working. This year has started off with quite the journey for me. My beloved psychological serial killer series has had a complete makeover!

The dark and twisted stories of a detective plagued with hallucinations of corpse faces on the hunt for serial killers with demented filters on reality remain untouched. The stories are delicious.

The packaging, the covers, the look and feel, have been completely redone. They look fabulous. They seep 80s Metal Murder.

Final Track and Acid Track have been revealed and remain available for your entertainment.

The third book, Back Track, will be unleashed upon the world soon! The cover reveal will be on June 2. The book will be launched on June 9. If you want in on the early access and exclusive online event, join Bon Julie’s rocking newsletter.

Bon (Demon) Julie’s 80s Metal Murder Birthday

It all began with some sweet birthday sugar from my lovely friends. I didn’t expect gifts. Especially not 80s metal, chocolate, flowers, and wheels of cheese gifts!

I woke up early, got some writing in, then braved the snow storm to get my free pie in a cup from Starbucks. Peppermint mocha. Yes.

At several times during the day, I fondled the hard cover copies of the Horror anthology I was recently published in. They arrived just in time for birthday fondling. And yes, I love the word fondling.

Mid morning was spin time! Pre burn for my birthday dinner. I paired the sweat fest with a movie suggested by my horror loving friend who knows my fetish for metal. The Green Room did not disappoint. And I quote, it’s like “licking the floor in a public restroom.” Ha. While watching it, I actually felt like I was back at Vern’s on the night of my book launch.

Then it was sprint time! Writing a chunk of words with my awesome Nanowrimo Bootcamp. They rock. And I got in a great scene started in the hospital after my main character gets attacked by a glowing purple monster fish with fangs.

After a warm bubble bath I had an experience beyond all with a small slice of the triple creme brie that my dear friends gave me. Oh. My. God. Once you have triple creme, you never go back.

Of course, the experienced wheel of cheese eater as I am, a beer pairing is a must. My special birthday pumpkin beer brewed by amazing hubby went perfectly with the triple creme. To top it off, I took in one of my fav rock movies, wrapped in a blanket, by the fireplace. I mean, cheese, beer, Marky Mark as a rock star…say no more.

Now, you’d think this enough, right? Nope. The evening was topped off with a wonderful winter walk, with hubby, up to a new restaurant near us. More cheese. Wine. Pizza. Limoncello. Walk home. What a day. And, no, there are no pictures of dinner. I didn’t look at my phone. I took in the evening.

What is your favourite birthday memory?

10 Days of Halloween – Wrap Up

It’s sad to say goodbye to my beloved Halloween for another year. But, as I look back on the last week, I realize I’ve had enough fun…for now.

Our pumpkin carving was a success. The new carving toolset is awesome! I can’t wait to stretch my limits next year.

Bake time was a blast, and it was delicious. Who doesn’t love feasting on the remnants in the mixing bowl?

I spent the whole day listening to Halloween songs, including my all time favorite.

And of course, I had some devlish fun on my makeup.

To top off this amazing week with an 80s metal cherry, Halloween Howler with Broken Toyz was a blast.

If you love Halloween as much as I do, stay here, and follow along on Facebook or Instagram, for plenty more spine prickling things….

10 Days of Halloween – Halloween Howler

Tonight is the Halloween Howler! What is the Halloween Howler, you ask? It’s a double header live 80s metal show! Adhering to the restrictions in place, a hotel in the downtown core of my city has found a way to support live music. Thus, my tiny entourage and I will be making our way down to the belly of the city, decked up in 80s metal gear, and watch two live bands prove that 80s metal is still alive!

Last week, when a multiple day snow storm hit, and winter descended upon us much too early, I thought, oh my, we will be huddling in our winter coats watching the show. You see, in order to meet the requirements, the show is at a hotel, the bands will be on the pool deck, and the fans will be watching from room balconies.

But then…the weather turned. The sun came out, the snow melted, and the day of the show is looking very promising indeed.

I am particularly excited about seeing Delicious Dan (yes, that’s my name for him). He was my favourite when I saw Broken Toyz at a small dive hot-boxed in sweat.

Here’s to Halloween! Here’s to 80s Metal! And here’s to making the best of life.

What activity are you looking forward to this Halloween? I would love to hear! Share in the comments.
