Calgary Horror Con 2022

A couple of weekends ago, I attended the Calgary Horror Con. It was my first time as a vendor, and it was a blast!

The organizers are a hard working team. They did a brilliant job at pulling this all together after being cancelled multiple times. Thank you to all of them!

I got to hang out with some amazing local talent! I was honored to share a table with both the devilish duo at 7th Terrace publishing, and the amazing author and editor, J. J. Reichenbach. They were delighted (well, sort of), to be covered in glitter and dancing to Funky Town, compliments of Bon Julie.

The event attracts some hardcore horror fans. Some of them go to great lengths to perfect their costumes. My favorite was the one of many Michaels who had his cold, cold stare nailed down. I felt a shiver creep down my spine. The event was also filled with heavy metal lovers. I saw some really amazing vests. Head bangers are a super friendly bunch.

Submersing myself into the sea of horror and heavy metal lovers, I found some authentic fans for my books. Especially the 80s Metal Murder series. It turns out that the vintage cover for Final Track has some merit. The font and the imagery drew people in. I am happy I still have some copies to take to upcoming events.

I tapped into my 80s metal core, and got inspired by some good old classics. I love doing makeup. Finding my vibe and tapping into it to represent my books was such a great experience.

I’ve never felt like a natural sales person. Selling my books can be challenging. Horror Con was a place where I could authentically tap into my vibe, amp up my love for the Heavy Metal Horror that I’ve written, and share my creations with true fans. I can’t wait to go back next year!

If you want to get your hands on a vintage print copy of Final Track, stay tuned here. I’ll be turning up the voltage on my local store to reach more readers.

Massive Book Makeover

It has been far too long since I’ve written a post. Far, far, too long!

I’ve been shut in my office working, working, working. This year has started off with quite the journey for me. My beloved psychological serial killer series has had a complete makeover!

The dark and twisted stories of a detective plagued with hallucinations of corpse faces on the hunt for serial killers with demented filters on reality remain untouched. The stories are delicious.

The packaging, the covers, the look and feel, have been completely redone. They look fabulous. They seep 80s Metal Murder.

Final Track and Acid Track have been revealed and remain available for your entertainment.

The third book, Back Track, will be unleashed upon the world soon! The cover reveal will be on June 2. The book will be launched on June 9. If you want in on the early access and exclusive online event, join Bon Julie’s rocking newsletter.
