Calgary Horror Con 2022

A couple of weekends ago, I attended the Calgary Horror Con. It was my first time as a vendor, and it was a blast!

The organizers are a hard working team. They did a brilliant job at pulling this all together after being cancelled multiple times. Thank you to all of them!

I got to hang out with some amazing local talent! I was honored to share a table with both the devilish duo at 7th Terrace publishing, and the amazing author and editor, J. J. Reichenbach. They were delighted (well, sort of), to be covered in glitter and dancing to Funky Town, compliments of Bon Julie.

The event attracts some hardcore horror fans. Some of them go to great lengths to perfect their costumes. My favorite was the one of many Michaels who had his cold, cold stare nailed down. I felt a shiver creep down my spine. The event was also filled with heavy metal lovers. I saw some really amazing vests. Head bangers are a super friendly bunch.

Submersing myself into the sea of horror and heavy metal lovers, I found some authentic fans for my books. Especially the 80s Metal Murder series. It turns out that the vintage cover for Final Track has some merit. The font and the imagery drew people in. I am happy I still have some copies to take to upcoming events.

I tapped into my 80s metal core, and got inspired by some good old classics. I love doing makeup. Finding my vibe and tapping into it to represent my books was such a great experience.

I’ve never felt like a natural sales person. Selling my books can be challenging. Horror Con was a place where I could authentically tap into my vibe, amp up my love for the Heavy Metal Horror that I’ve written, and share my creations with true fans. I can’t wait to go back next year!

If you want to get your hands on a vintage print copy of Final Track, stay tuned here. I’ll be turning up the voltage on my local store to reach more readers.

Festive Advent Calendar Day 16

Festive Advent Calendar DAY 16!

It’s that time of year when we are looking for the perfect gift for our loved ones (or for ourselves). From Dec 1 – 25, stop on by here for some great ideas, and support authors, artists, and musicians while doing it!

Thus far, the calendar has been heavily focused on books, with a little music thrown in. You should have a decent selection for all the different types of readers in your life. Now, we turn to the essence of Killers and Demons – metal and murder. For those of you who are avid followers, this is for you!

On Day 16, I bring you Sinister Metal & Rock – A band and true metal enthusiasts.

These guys are a metal lover’s dream! Their Facebook page is to die for. They do live shows. You can see their killer performances on the videos they share. They also pay tribute to all the top notch metal out there. I love the amazing artwork they post.

This one is a FREEBIE for you metal lovers out there to sit back, throw back a cocktail, and unwind while consuming some killer metal!

Pay it forward. Share it around. Put a like on it.
