10 Days of Halloween – Wrap Up

It’s sad to say goodbye to my beloved Halloween for another year. But, as I look back on the last week, I realize I’ve had enough fun…for now.

Our pumpkin carving was a success. The new carving toolset is awesome! I can’t wait to stretch my limits next year.

Bake time was a blast, and it was delicious. Who doesn’t love feasting on the remnants in the mixing bowl?

I spent the whole day listening to Halloween songs, including my all time favorite.

And of course, I had some devlish fun on my makeup.

To top off this amazing week with an 80s metal cherry, Halloween Howler with Broken Toyz was a blast.

10 Days of Halloween – Metal Murder Movie Time!

Since this is the week leading up to Halloween, I’m devouring scary movies. I tend to stick to the ‘old school’ stuff. I love the 80s. This week I have ventured into the current year! Yes! And guess what? It’s not so bad.

Being an 80s metal head and a horror lover, I came across this absolute gem! If you love sassy characters, metal heads, and ritualistic murder…this is for you. Give it a go. The story is decent. I’ll admit, I was surprised a few times – the twists are well executed.

I LOVED the fact that it PROVED that metal isn’t dead. Really.

I LOVED the unexpected twists and turns.

I LOVED the unsettling ending…where you start to question what really happened.

Have you been watching scary movies? What’s your favourite? Any recommendations for Halloween night? I’d love to read your suggestions in the comments.

10 Days of Halloween – Movie Time

I love scary movies. What better time than Halloween to pour a glass of wine, turn off all the lights, and curl up on the couch for scary movie time?

Today, in true Demon Julie style, I’ll recommend the toxic cocktail – Devil’s Candy. Two parts heavy metal, one part murder, and laced with terror. In raw #MetalMurder fashion, the devil’s music possesses those who listen, morphing mere humans into killing machines.

It’s a rough, raw ride filled with horrifying images. It’s sure to send a chill up your insides. So grab a cocktail, butter that popcorn, and prepare your self for a scary ride!

What is your favorite scary movie? Share in the comments.

A Modern Mix of Acid, Classic and Metal – WolfMother

My first exposure to WolfMother was during a stint in San Diego. I had time to lounge on the roof top and gorge myself in the wails of the rock gods. Somehow, I came across WolfMother. The track Violence of the Sun had me totally hooked. The lead singer – Andrew – had the rock god voice that I longed for, that I needed to be a happy, full human being. The rough rock vibe pulled me in to the acid rock, classic rock, metal concoction that I couldn’t get enough of.
