It’s been a while since I have written a post. I’m sorry. I got lost in finishing book 3 (Yes! Book 3!) in the Det. Mahoney, 80s metal murder series. I was attempting to juggle quite a few things. I stepped back, focused on less, in the name of quality.
Things are settling now. I am starting to find a flow in the different areas of my little book business.
Thank you for your patience. I am thrilled you are still hanging around. As a thank you, I am having a flash sale. Today is the last day, so grab your copy!
There’s lots going on! I’ve been working on two different novellas. One is a spin off of one of the characters from the Det. Mahoney series. The other, more on the horror side of things, is about Owen, his terrarium, and the life he lives according to a painful cycle.
I’m also deep into a killer collaboration with an amazing horror author, Daniel Willcocks, and we will be releasing a delicious horror anthology in time for Halloween.
Finally, I have a gruesome story about gluttony coming out in July as part of a fantastic anthology, Forbidden Fruit, by the talented Seventh Terrace.
Stay tuned here for details on all of this, along with some new features coming up (80s metal, murder, and horror, oh – and a head bang or two).
Welcome to the 10 Days of Halloween – Day 2. Join in the fun, little demons. Halloween is for everyone, not just the kids. Why can’t us adults (or demons) have fun too?
As I mentioned in Day 1, things may be different this year. But it won’t stop us from celebrating the spooky day of Halloween. There are plenty of activities you can do – creepy, scary, spooky and fun!! Today, I bring you Story Time! OH YES.
I am thrilled to feature an amazing author – Ian J. Middleton. I picked up book 1 in his four part Vantage Point series—and the rest is history. I had read them all in no time. I love the raw fear that trickled down my spine as I devoured every word.
Today, I read to you from ‘No Escape’ – the first in the four part series. Grab a stiff cocktail, dig into that Halloween candy in the closet (you can always buy more), curl up on the couch, and prepare to have Demon Julie reach a cold hand through your insides. OH YES.
Let’s get started, shall we?
Please, grab yourself a copy of this devilish delight today!
You are in for a treat! You can get the four box set (Kindle) NOW!
I can’t believe that three series of story time have been recorded and shared.
This last one was just as delightful as the first two. I fall in love with every dark story that I choose to read to you, thus, it always seems like I won’t find more stories that I love just as much, but I do.
This last series featured some dark delights. If you missed any of them, simply scroll down a little. Be warned, these stories will chill your bones and keep you up at night. So, before you indulge, poor a stiff drink and curl up in a blanket. Then let Demon Julie come into your bedroom and tell you a terrifying tale, or two.
Stay tuned for a more story time coming soon!
Since it is Halloween month, I am on the hunt for Halloween themed stories, or stories of ghosts, gouls and the like. If you have a story that you would like read, please comment below or contact me! All that is required is that I get permission from the author to read his/her work.
Today I am here to share with you a fantastic Dark Fantasy series that you MUST add to your book shelf.
I am NOT usually a series reader, nor a reader of dark fantasy. Yet, this series absolutely grabbed me and pulled me into it’s dark, tantalizing vortex. I blasted through these books with ease as I was drawn to the characters, their stories, and their struggles.
Why couldn’t I put this series down?
WORLD BUILDING – The author, Konn, has an incredible talent for building imaginative worlds and describing them vividly on the page. I felt like I was there, in these amazing places, navigating along with the characters.
CHARACTERS – I was drawn to the characters, their struggles, their stories, and their emotions. I cared deeply about the main character, Krista, and wanted so much for the lovely reptilian mutation to find her way.
ART – This series is more than a set of books. Each book is a masterpiece of fiction, poetry, and hand drawn art work woven together beautifully. Konn shares his unique talents that he has poured his passion into.

Killers AND demons. Why, Julie, why? Why did you create such a ghastly sounding website?
I’ll tell you why.
The killers part comes from my obsession with serial killers. I’m absolutely fascinated with such dark, twisted minds, and have been for a long time. I’ve been watching Criminal Minds for years, and I squeal with delight when an endless stream of re-runs appears on TV allowing me a full day of binging on murder while the rain pelts against the window. When I’m cooking dinner or my latest French pastry creation, I love to put Forensic Files on in the background and pick up tidbits of gruesome acts and how DNA, fibres, or stupidly left paper trails lead the authorities to the killer.
I love to problem solve. I love investigations, and poking holes in the fictitious, or real ones, that I watch with eagerness. As for the killers, well, it scares me to death what real people are capable of. This particular type of killer – the serial killer – the kind of person who cannot be completely and accurately psychologically diagnosed, and who becomes so obsessed with a dark fantasy that he or she must play it out over and over – like some sort of horror flick – until it is perfect, fascinates the part of my brain that can’t look away. I can’t help wanting to figure out why someone can murder dozens of people and do unspeakable things to the bodies. I can’t help wanting to understand why it happens and why it’s so difficult to stop, to prevent, to nip in the bud. It’s terrifying. Just like you, I have my favourite genres of movies and books – and scary shit just happens to be right on top.
Hello readers, little demons, and friends. How are you doing? No, really. How ARE you doing? I would love to know. Your comments are welcome.
This is a simple – hi, how are you? – post.
We are all bombarded by scary, negative information right now.
We are all unsure of what will happen next.
The world around us is trying to figure out what to do.
I know you want to go back to ‘normal’. To go out for a glass of wine with a friend in the afternoon. To take part in summer activities. To leisurely browse your favourite bookstore. We all have things we miss. Things we are craving! I would LOVE to go out for a dose of live music, dancing and socializing with friends. Oh yes, I have moments where I just want to claw my way out of these walls around me.
But, I need to have a little patience. We all need to have a little patience. With each other, and with ourselves.
When our uneasiness becomes intolerable, when our anxiety swells, we must regroup. I know it’s hard. But, if the let our bad feelings and thoughts get away from us, we infect ourselves and our family members. The energy can even seep through the world wide web into our online virtual meetings and classes
I say we CHOOSE to be positive. Even when it gets tough. We can create our own sunshine filled patio with a dose of happy hour.
